Elements of critical reading in EFL teachers’ instructions

چکیده

Reading instructions should go a bit beyond ‘explicit question’ to facilitate students’ critical thinking. What it means by is question whose answer can be found in the text explicitly. This research, therefore, aimed investigate EFL teachers’ reading find out what extend contained elements of reading. Twenty-seven teachers participated listing all activities they had given students throughout their teaching career. All were collected, and similar combined. There total ninety-nine instructions. The then compared framework which belonged to. Findings showed that only such categories as identifying, analyzing, summarizing, guessing. Aside from that, for four same. It appeared lacked creativity innovative ideas. still or not yet been utilized explored. These findings prompted inclusion instruction design skills teacher education. After all, thinking has long emphasized national education developing responsible citizens avoiding becoming victim false information.
